Current developments

REH is currently working on developments totaling more than 500MW potential through our identified markets. Two important developments we are able to share with investors are both green-field opportunities.

Poland

REH has signed a sale and purchase agreement with a Polish company to develop a 30MW wind power project in Kobylany. Kobylany is situated a few kilometres south of Krosno in south east Poland and REH  plans to continue developing this project and commission it early 2011.

REH is working with local partners to realise this project which is expected to generate enough electricity to supply over 20,000 homes. Polish law facilitates renewable electricity producers to sell to the local electricity grid operator on a priority of dispatch basis.

The price REH will receive for its power pursuant to this regulation is the average of the previous years market price. Under Polish Law, Green certificates are awarded to the generators of renewable power, these certificates can then be traded on an Exchange, the trading system is based on a cap and trade structure similar to the UK ROC system.

REH has decided to develop projects in Poland due to the good fundamentals such as its heavy reliance on fossil fuels and it’s commitment to renewable energy, both unilaterally and as part of its commitment to joining the EU.

United Kingdom

The company has a signed sale and purchase agreement with a Welsh company for the development of a potentially 69MW wind power project called Sweetlamb. The company plans to continue developing this project and commission it in 2011 / 12.

Once up and running in 2012 the wind-farm is expected to produce enough electricity for over 45,000 homes based on a conservative 36% net capacity factor assumption.
